DEPRESSIONINDIAONLINE's Mission, Goals and Objectives…

Mission Statement: To empower INDIANS to make informed choices and find solutions to the challenges of living with depression.

Our mission is to diminish and eliminate the stigma that has been for so long attached to people with mental illness in INDIA.

More specifically, we seek to accomplish the following:

We are committed

Ø     To provide education and information for the benefit of those Indians suffering from depression and to people at large.

Ø     To increase knowledge about symptoms of depression and the warning signs of resulting suicidal thinking and behaviour thereby encouraging early detection and early intervention

Ø     To provide one place where Indians living with depression and related conditions can come anonymously and find the most comprehensive, trustworthy, resource for all their information, help and support needs.

Ø     To reduce the impact of depression on the lives of Indians by providing 24 hour peer care, understanding and support.

Ø     To fill the gap created by the stigma surrounding 'mental illness' especially depression in India.

We attempt to form a bridge between people at home and work and the information help and support that exists but that can be so hard to find.
