SYMPTOMS OF DEPRESSION…

Depression is one of the world's oldest and most common ailments. It can have both physical and psychological symptoms.

Ø     As with many mental health problems, there are a number of symptoms of depression and it's very rare for all of them to occur in one person.

Ø     Depression is associated with many symptoms and not everyone has the same ones. Some people have many symptoms, while others may only have a few

Ø     Severity of symptoms varies with individuals and also varies over time. 

If you know some of the signs of depression, you may be able to help yourself or someone close to you.

SIGNS OF DEPRESSION

The following is a basic list of some of the symptoms:

Ø      Persistent sad, anxious, or "empty" mood.

Ø      Feelings of hopelessness, pessimism.

Ø      Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, helplessness.

Ø     Losing interest in activities that used to bring pleasure - Inability to enjoy things.

Ø     Decreased energy, fatigue, being "slowed down" - Lack of energy and constant exhaustion.
